Digitalisation an exhibition on JN Tata opens near Children’s Park


    Jamshedpur, March 2: As part of the 178th Founders Day celebrations an exhibition on the theme ‘digitalisation’ was opened near the Children’s Park of the Jubilee Park on Thursday, March 2 evening.

    The exhibition was inaugurated by Andrew Robb, Director, Tata Steel after the illumination of lights in Jubilee Park, at around 7 pm. Present on the occasion were Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons, newly appointed chairman of Tata Sons Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Tata Steel Group executive director (finance and corporate) Koushik Chatterjee, Tata Steel MD TV Narendran, Tata Steel president (TQM and steel business) Anand Sen, VP Sunil Bhaskaran and SD Tripathy and other senior officials of the company.

    It may be noted that founder’s day was first instituted by Tata Steel on March 3, 1932. It was D N Madan, Chief Accountant, Tata Iron and Steel Company, who first conceived the idea of observing and celebrating an annual gathering to commemorate the birth anniversary of J.N. Tata.

    Founder’s day provided him with an opportunity of expressing his regard for the memory of the genius to whose faith and adjustment, energy and perseverance, the works, the towns and the environs of Jamshedpur bear enduring witness.

    J.N. Tata, a pioneer, a visionary, a seer, as he is popularly recognized, was the person who secured a strong foothold in the map of the industrialized nations of the world.
