Jamshedpur: Goddess Kali was bid farewell by her devotees on the occasion of immersion of her idol in Parsudih on Monday. Members of Sri Sri Kali Puja Committee of Parsudih Market took out the immersion procession in a grand manner. The immersion took place at Bodhanwala Ghat in Bistupur. The committee celebrated its golden jubilee this year.

The immersion procession pulled a huge crowd on the roads of Parsudih, making it difficult for commuters to negotiate their way through the devotees. A heavy deployment of police was made to ensure peace on the occasion.

The committee members felicitated more than 20 traders who extended their support in organizing the puja over the years. They said the committee was founded in 1968.
Among those present during the immersion procession included Zila Parishad member Supriyo Dey Rana, social worker Rajendra Raj, Tapas Ghosh, Shankar Agrawal, Rishi Singh, Arvind Burman, Suprabhat Das, Govindo Dutta, Jayanto Dhar, Viplab Bose, Larai Munduya, Kaushik Devnath, Abhijeet Dutta and Bapi Nandi.
