DC motivates schools to become zero drop out’


    Seraikela: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ramesh Gholap today said that one school from every panchayat across the nine blocks in the district would be developed into a model school.

    Various activities and facilities including painting, sports, technical education, library, laboratory and plantation would be launched in these schools, he said.

    Gholap was speaking during the inspection of education department. He said the block education expansion officers (BEEOs) should come forward with suggestions to improve the level of education and other extra-curricular activities in the government schools.

    He said that in the light of the directive issued by the state education department, the model schools in the district should adopt various methods and activities to upgrade their standard.

    “The cooperation of the people is must to develop the schools. NGOs should also come forward with a helping hand,” said the DC.

    The DC further said that an attendance flag would be put up outside the classroom having maximum attendance in the government schools. The class monitor would be installing the attendance flag outside the class. This would greatly inspire the students to attend classes daily without fail, he said.

    The DC said that there were 4450 regular teachers and para teachers in the 1647 government schools of the district. He said the quality of education in these schools will not be allowed to go down in want of teachers.

    The DC further said that this year a target of declaring 45 panchayats as zero drop out panchayats was to be achieved. The progress report on this target should be submitted within 10 days.
