Jamshedpur: The deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar paid a surprise inspection visit to Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Jamshedpur Civil Court and several public places across the city here on Wednesday.
He took the JNAC officials to task on certain points that came to light during his visit, especially pertaining to lack of cleanliness and encroachment on roads.
The DC inspected the state of affairs at the JNAC office. He visited various departments at the JNAC office and inquired about work progress. He expressed his displeasure on the reckless spreading of construction material on roads and lack of cleanliness at different places including the road to the civil court.
Kumar directed Deepak Sahay, special officer of JNAC, to ensure cleanliness at all public places and keep dustbins at strategic locations. He also asked him to take strict action against contractors and individuals keeping construction materials on road. He said the roads should be kept free of encroachment and wide enough to allow smooth and safe traffic flow.
The DC also objected to the sale of tari (intoxicating drink) on the roadside near Bhuiyandih. Police guards on duty drove away the vendors from the roadside on his instructions.
On his visit to the Civil Court, the DC enquired about security arrangements. He stressed on keeping the security arrangements beefed up on the court premises throughout the office hours.
