CS orders KVK, ATMA officials to achieve agriculture sector targets

Ranchi, June 4: Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma directed the officials of KVK & ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency) to work jointly and fast in agriculture sector. She ordered the officials to go to the farmers and sensitize them.

CS said- State has 24 KVK, despite that there is a gulf between targets and achievements. She advised KVK for village wise profiling of arable land & to start a campaign with roadmap for scheme implementation. Make Farmers Card on the pattern of SOIL Health Card, further advised Mrs. Verma. She was chairing a meeting of KVK, ATMA & District Agriculture officials at project building convened to achieve scheme targets for FY 2016-17.

Mrs. Verma further directed the KVK officials to ensure that more and more agricultural land is covered under �ARYA� scheme and farmers can be encouraged for transplantation.

While reviewing implementation of BEEJ GRAM YOJNA, CS directed to associate 2 youths with the help of ATMA as KRISHI MITRA from each village by 10th of June 2016.

Ensure their training by 15th of June in a special workshop, so that ,they can encourage farmers on village level for increase of production capacity and set up of BEEJ GRAM, added the CS.Formation of 20-25 BEEJ GRAM of which at least 5 of pulses was directed during the meeting.CS directed KVK to map fallow land and detailing of farmers, so that fallow land can be made fertile. CS further directed the officials to encourage Agro-Business trained farmers for agri-business.

CS asked KVK to mark the fertile land of their area and explore the land which can be made ready for double crop.

She directed for profiling of trained persons and their present status.Mrs. Verma directed the officials to survey the impact of agri-exibitions on farmers.She directed to makeATM andBTM more responsible.

It is mention worthy that around 40 lakh farmers are there in the state. During implementation of crop insurance, verification of the beneficiaries was decided to check forgery. In this regard Mukhiya�s ,CO�s and bankers have been advised to verify the documents.

District Agriculture officers will be the controlling authority to check black marketing of fertilizer. Decision in this regard was taken during the meeting. CS directed theofficials torelease licenses to LAMPS &PACS for fertilizer to check black marketing.CS directed the officials to ensure proper block wise distribution of fertilizer. Mrs. Verma directed for bank wise verification of KCC distribution.

Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Secretary, Agriculture Department, Jata Shankar Choudhary, Director, Agriculture Department, V.C., B.A.U. and other officials were present in the meeting.
