Construction of subway near Rajkharsawan to hit train service on June 14

Jamshedpur, June 12: Train services in Chakradharpur railway division of South Eastern Railway ( SER) will remain hit for about seven hours on June 14, due toconstruction of a low height subway near Rajkharsawan railway station in West Singhbhum district.

Railway authorities at Tatanagar said that seven hours traffic-cum-power block will be carried out from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. Movement of both passenger and goods trains would be affected.

According to information, the Gua-Tata Passenger will also be short-terminated at Chaibasa.The Howrah-BarbilJanshatabdi Express will be short-terminated at Chaibasa railway station where it reached around 11 am. The return train for Howrah will leave from Chaibasa at around 4 pm.

�We have informed passengers beforehand about the block to be carried so the passengers can plan their trip accordingly,” noted an official.

Chakradharpur is the highest revenue earning railway division in terms of freight in the country.

The Tatanagar station assumes importance in view because it is located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.

The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
