Congress candidate says people will vote for development

Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Congress candidate from Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta said that he would demand votes from people of the constituency on the development work he has carried out in the last five years as an MLA.

�This time also the people of the region will make me a winner with a big margin as I have done development and will carry the same flame forward�, said the sitting MLA from Jamshedpur West after filing his nomination on the last day on Friday while talking to the media persons.

Talking further the state agriculture minister Gupta said that the focus will be on building new bridge at Mango, fly over and Greater Jamshedpur. Banna Gupta said that he has confidence on his voters and development done would help him retain the seat.

�I have worked for all section of people especially inauguration of power grid at Mango, widening of Mango-Purulia road,� said Banna Gupta. The Congress leader denied Narendra Modi factor in the assembly polls.

Taking a dig at BJP candidate and former MLA Saryu Rai, sitting MLA said that Rai should tell the people what work he has done in all the years as MLA.

Answering a query, Banna Gupta said that the issues are totally different in Assembly elections in compare to the Lok Sabha polls.

The subject matter in Lok Sabha is of national and international issues while in the assembly elections people vote for the concerns of the state.

He further said that the local BJP leaders don�t have faith in themselves this is the reason they are demanding votes only in the name of PM Narendra Modi.

In Lok Sabha polls people voted for PM Narendra Modi and BJP but during the assembly elections the people of Jharkhand will vote for development.

Earlier State agriculture minister and sitting MLA from Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta filed nomination on Friday at district collectorate along with 47 others on the last day of the filing of nomination for six assembly segments in the Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency.

Along with large number of supporters Banna from Aam Bagan ground in Sakchi headed to the district collectorate. Banna flanked by district Congress president Bijay Khan and three other proposers entered the district collectorate to file his nomination.

Meanwhile, seven candidates filed nomination on last day from Jamshedpur East, five from Jamshedpur West, nine from Potka (ST) and eight from Jugsalai (SC) constituencies at district collectorate of Jamshedpur.

Six candidates filed nomination for Baharagora (general) constituency and 13 from Ghatshila (ST) at Ghatshila SDO office, around 45 kms from Jamshedpur today.
