Ranchi, Aug. 24: Chief Minister Raghubar Das has written a request letter to union health and welfare minister JP Nadda to decrease cut off marks from 40 to 35 for selection of ST candidates in MBBS curriculum in medical colleges against the vacant 37 seats in session 2016-17.

Three medical colleges of Jharkhand RIMS Ranchi, MGM Medical College Jamshedpur and Patliputra Medical College, Dhanbad have 289 seats out of which 76 seats are reserved for the ST candidates.

In the academic session 2016-17, only 49 ST candidates could pass in the MBBS examination. Hence, the ST vacant seats in medical colleges should be filled up.

The CM said that through this decision, the interest of the tribal students will be protected and the govt. will be able to implement medical facilities.
