Ranchi, Nov. 10: Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a public sector entity under the administration of Ministry of Power, will soon launch the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) in Jharkhand.
Their petition to start the discounted LED scheme has been formally accepted by the state regulatory commission and the order has been released. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Raghubir Das will launch the scheme on November 15, 2015 on the occasion of Jharkhand Diwas in the Morabadi Ground, Ranchi.
The State Regulatory Commission has duly approved the petition by EESL to run the scheme in collaboration with the state electricity distribution company, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
Under the DELP scheme, in Jharkhand, each consumer is eligible for 3 LED bulbs per domestic household, at Rs. 100 each (against a market price of Rs. 350).
Consumers have an option of paying the amount upfront or choose an EMI option where they would have to just pay Rs. 10 per LED bulb and the rest of amount will be added to their electricity bill over a period of ten months.
Consumers electricity bills will reduce by about Rs. 160-400 per year with each LED, thus making the cost recovery lesser than a year.
The LED bulbs provided under this scheme are of a superior quality and come with a 3 year warrantee and a life of 25,000 hours. This LED bulb is 9 watt and is equivalent to a 100 watt filament lamp.
To avail the scheme, the customer needs to provide a copy of latest electricity bill along with a copy of ID proof.
The list of distribution centres will be made available on http://www.delp.in and the Jharkhand BijliVitran Nigam website.
