CM lays foundation stone for road and bridge projects

    Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that his government has prioritized clean drinking water and irrigation facilities for the people of Palamu.

    To ensure the facilities, Sone river water will be provided to households through pipeline. He said that the DPR of this scheme will be completed by 15th December and after completing other formalities in January, the foundation stone will be laid in February.

    The CM made the announcement while laying centralized online foundation stone for road and bridge schemes worth Rs 4,000 crore at Chiyanki aerodrome ground at Medininagar.

    Das laid the online foundation stone for 55 roads and 13 bridges and dedicated 25 roads and 45 bridges to people. He said that DPR for a road construction project worth Rs 213 crore is ready.

    During the programme itself, the CM approved a 23 km four lane road construction project in Lohardaga and another 55 km road construction project on the NH 75. He said that DPR for construction of bypass roads in Lohardaga, Garhwa, Hazaribagh and other districts is ready and very soon, work will be started on it.

    The CM said that outsourcing of work by big contractors should be stopped as it affects the quality of work. Warning contractors who want work at gunpoint, he said that they will be put under scanner and the government will deal strictly with them.

    Das urged the Chambers of Commerce to contribute in the development of the state. He said that their contribution will help the state develop as per the expectation of the people. He said that his government is committed for expansion of roads in urban as well as rural areas.

    Now feudal system will not work. The government is strictly against those who exploit poor people. A committee has been made to sort out Khasmahal land problems which will be completed by 15th December,” he said.

    Terming recent amendments in the CNT Act and SPT Act in the interest of the state, the CM said the move will protect tribal interests. He appealed to Naxalites to join the mainstream for their own development and the development of the state.

    On this occasion, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma said that it is a historic day for the people of Palamu. Projects worth approximately Rs 4000 crore are being given to the people of Palamu.

    A scheme worth approximately Rs 670 crore is being dedicated to the people and foundation stones for schemes worth Rs 3310 crore have been laid, she said.

    Verma said that as per the direction of the CM, basic infrastructural facilities are being sped up for the sake of development.

    The CM also directed to prepare schemes for energy and drinking water. She said that the development of Palamu will boost up inter-state transportation as it is connected with Bihar and UP.

    Health Minister Ram Chandra Chandravanshi, Palamu MP BD Ram, MLAs Radha Krishna Kishor, Shiv Poojan Mehta, CS Raj Bala Verma, Prabha Devi and other people were present on this occasion.
