CM launches Cashless Jharkhand campaign at Nagri block

Ranchi, Dec. 2: Inaugurating the �Cashless Jharkhand Campaign at Nagri block, Chief Minister Raghubar Das here on Friday said that the campaign will help Jharkhand get rid of black money, corruption and touts.

�Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s concept of cashless India and cashless Jharkhand will be implemented in Jharkhand. Rs 5 lakh crore deposited in the Reserve Bank of India after demonetization will be used for various welfare funds for poor people as per the direction of the PM,� said the CM.

Das further said that BPL families will be provided sacks containing 35 kg of food grain from the Financial Year 2017-18. Provisions will be made for the foodgrains in the next budget.

Poor youths will be trained and employed in making these sacks. Smart phones worth Rs 5,000 will be made VAT free. Five departments of the state government will be made cashless this year and by 2017, all departments will be made paperless.

Das said that everyone should endeavour for a cashless state. Referring to today as a historic day, he said the 21st century will be the century of India. �IT plays an important role in it. He said that after coming in power, his govt. initiated for digital Jharkhand. As a result, BPL families are given food-grains through POS.

With implementation of this system, the state is benefitted with Rs 700 crore which will be used for poor people,� he said.

Referring to the PM as �Shikhar Purush�, the CM said that his digital and cashless India campaign is the testimony to the truth that how effortful he is for the uplift of the poor and the deprived. Demonetisation is a panacea to cure corruption and black money which accumulated in the last 10 years, he said.

Das said that initially the people may face some difficulties but later demonetization will bear its fruits.

�Demonetization has subdued Pakistan and pelting of stones has stopped in Jammu and Kashmir. Extremism will be reined in with demonetization. The government will train officers and staff for cashless transactions.

I thank people for supporting the Union and State governments on the issues of demonetization and cashless economy,� he said.

The CM later inspected Point of Sale (POS) machines of BOI, Gramin Bank, Canara Bank and Nagri Petrol pump.

Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, MLAs Ram Kumar Pahan, Jitu Charan Ram, Gangotri Kujur, CS Raj Bala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Forest Sukhdev Singh, RDD Principal Secretary N. N. Sinha, SBI MD Ajit Sood, Sudipto Mukherjee, MD, Banker�s Committee Prasad Joshi and other people were present on this occasion.
