CM lauds ecofriendly toilet built at Telco, school to get five computers

Jamshedpur, June 26: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday lauded the efforts to set up ecofriendly toilet at Manav Vikas School, at Garudbasa in Telco with the use of waste plastic bottles.

Das, this morning went to the school and appreciated the authorities involved in the project. The empty unused water bottles filled with sand, iron-ore dust and slag ash have been used in the project. These materials served as an alternative to bricks.

The objective behind the proposed toilet was to utilise unused plastic bottles and slag ash, which were available in and around the city in plenty. Around 3000 empty plastic bottles were required for construction of the toilet.

They were collected from the nearby residential colonies and the majority of bottles by students from their homes.
Mondrita Chatterjee, a STD VII student of the city-based Hill Top School, and her family expressed their happiness in being involved with the project and bore the financial expenses to be incurred for the toilet.

During his visit to the school, Das also interacted with the school management committee and motivated them to come more such novel environment friendly initiatives.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also ordered authorities to provide the school with five computers. He also took details on drop out ratio.
