Ranchi, Jan. 14: On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated Namo Patang Utsav 2016 at Argora ground Ranchi on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the CM greeted them on Makar Sankranti and Tusu Parv. He said that festivals have their importance and everyone should respect that. Our country could become World Guru because of our rich culture. We need to preserve the same, Das said.

He expressed his concern for the deteriorating climatic conditions in Jharkhand and said that each one of us is responsible for the same. We have to cooperate with each other, so that we can come out of deteriorating conditions.

To preserve the environment, we have to concentrate on the plantation of trees, construction of colony roads and manage the level of water so that we can fight with the worst conditions of water shortage. We should preserve the rain water. Rather than constructing normal roads pebble block roads should be prepared.

The CM said that the government is committed to development and good governance. If each one of us will honestly fulfill our duties towards the state, we will become one of the best developed states in the country in the next five years.

He mentioned that the Jharkhand government is working on four fronts of the state industry, agriculture, IT and tourism. The government has marked 200 acres of land in HEC for the IT hub to stop the getaway of the youth, he informed.

He said that the state government is developing four different tourist circuits. Patratu Dam will be developed on the lines of the Marine drive, he said, adding, We are not lacking in intentions, nor even in vision, what we need is support of common man. Then only we can prove ourselves as a citizen of a developed state. He summoned the people to join hands and make our state self-dependent.

Urban Development Minister C. P. Singh, Hatiya MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Khijri MLA Rajkumar Pahan, Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakda, Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargiya and BJP State president Ravindra Rai were present on the occasion.
