Ranchi, September 6: Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated and laid foundation stones of power sub-stations benefitting Garhwa and Palamau region on Monday.
While the chief minister inaugurated 132/33 KV Grid Sub Station at Meral (Bhagodih) Grid and laid online foundation stone of 132/33 KV grid Sub Station at Nagar Utari (Bhavnathpur) and 132/33 KV Grid Sub Station at Chhatarpur (Palamau).
Hemant Soren describing it as an important day for Palamu division including Garhwa district said, “Palamu division always had faced shortage of water and electricity. Our government has taken special care of Palamu division. It is the priority of the state government to bring qualitative improvement in basic facilities in the entire Palamu division including Garhwa district.”
While addressing the online inauguration and foundation laying stone program organised by state energy department at secretariat auditorium on Monday Hemant Soren said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide quality electricity to the remote rural areas of all the districts of the state.
“With the inauguration of grid sub station at Bhagodih in Garhwa district areas like Makri, Pandariya, Buka, Garda, Saraiya, Arsali etc. of Garhwa district will be benefited. Now consumers in these areas will get relief from the problem of low voltage.
The Chief Minister said that the work of water irrigation project is going on in Garhwa district. Along with strengthening the electricity system, work is also being done to relieve the people of Garhwa from the scarcity of water.
“By completing the water irrigation work at the earliest, the facilities of drinking water and irrigation have to be increased in these areas. The state government is engaged in giving impetus to many other ambitious schemes along with all the basic facilities in Palamu division,” said Soren.
The construction work of 132/33 KV grid sub-station in Chhatarpur and Bhavnathpur will be completed in next 24 months.
Hemant Soren also informed that 132/33 KV grid sub-stations would be set up at Nagaruntari (Bhavanathpur) and Chhatarpur in view of future demand of electricity in Palamu division. The foundation stone of this power substation grid has been laid today.
“ Both the power substation grids will be ready within the coming 24 months. GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) technology is being used for the first time in the power sub-station grid to be built in Chhatarpur. GIS is a modern technology. With the use of this technology, disturbances in power transmission will be seen less. The priority of the government is to provide quality electricity to the remote rural people of this area,” said Soren.
State’s drinking water and sanitation minister, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, who was present at the venue of Bhagodih, said that chief minister had kept its promise to the entire Palamu division including Garhwa district with the projects.
On this occasion, the Chief Secretary of the State Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary, Energy Department Avinash Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Managing Director of Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited K. K Verma were also present.
