Jamshedpur, June 5: CM Raghubar Das flagged off an environment rally organised by Basti Vikash Samiti at Burmamines to mark World Environment Day on Sunday.
While interacting with the members of samiti Das said: “We are irresponsible when it comes to environment. Biodiversity is the cornerstone of our existence on earth and, being a responsible citizen we have to aligned our strategy to greater good”.
He further said that the Government is committed to sustainable and responsible progress. Conservation of the environment is a constant focus and we endeavor to conserve and propagate the judicious use of natural resources in all ways possible. He said that we must take an oath to educate the future generations and instill a sense of responsibility towards Mother Nature. We take pride in spreading this message through our various initiatives for a greener tomorrow.
Das also planted saplings and motivated others to join this drive. He further said that the Government embarked on tree plantation drive across Jharkhand. The plantation campaign will be organised on the lines of Yojana Banao Abhiyan. He asked all the Government officials and public representatives to plant saplings across the year.
Samati today took several steps to inspire awareness and appreciation for the earth’s environment. Meanwhile reduce carbon foot print, Corporate Services Department of Tata Steel and JUSCO planted 150 avenue plantations at the golmuri golf course.
