CM emphasizes on rejuvenating lift irrigation schemes

Ranchi, Feb 3: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday directed officials to rejuvenate lift irrigation scheme and hand it over to the village panchayats. Reviewing the agriculture budget at Krishi Bhawan, he said that the schemes should be implemented before March 31.

The CM said that success of a government scheme directly depends on the participation of people. Schemes should be selected according to requirement of the people. Stepwise work should be done to complete a work within the timeframe.

The Agriculture Department, Water Resource Department and Rural Development Department are working in collaboration for agricultural development. It also avoids different departments doing the same type of work twice.

Trainers discussed crop insurance, goat rearing, piggery, fisheries, cow keeping and shed-making and techniques to run them. The Water Resource Department has made DPRs for 15 departments related to irrigation.

They also discussed the partly completed schemes. It will create more working days under MGNAREGA. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojana, NABARD Water Shed Scheme and Yojana Banao Scheme were discussed at large.

RDD minister Nilkanth Singh Munda, Agriculture minister Randhir Kumar Singh, principal secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary (Finance) Amit Khare, principal secretary (Water Resource Department) Sukhdev Singh, RDD principal secretary N. N. Sinha and Agriculture secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni were present in the meeting.
