Ranchi, April 27: Chief Minister ordered his government officials to purchase blankets, school dress, towels, pillow covers and other items from Jharkraft. He also ordered to open showrooms in 10,000 sq ft in HEC campus and other important cities of the nation so that it can get bigger market in the nation and promote Jharkhand art and craft. He said it while reviewing the work of Jharkraft in his office.
The CM directed to run Jharkraft professionally. He said that if the state government starts purchasing things from Jharkraft, it will get a big market. Efforts should be done to connect the people related with Prime Minister Mudra Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana with it.
He laid stress on timeframe work for developing and strengthening the infrastructural facilities. It will trigger small industries provided the women self help groups are connected. The government will train them under skill development program of the state.
It was told that the logo of Jharkraft along with Government of Jahrkhand will be on the blankets and other materials. Jharkraft will create jobs for women also.
Jharkraft MD. A. K. Singh said that 23 out of 133 common facility centers in the state are producing yarn. In the next three months, 38 more will start working out of which 10 will be new. Moreover, all new centers are targeted to start production in a year. Altogether 30 women are connected with one center.
If all the centers become operational, they will create many job opportunities. He said that 2458 handlooms are there in 35 clusters out of which 832 are functioning. In the coming three months, 407 handlooms will be started. The dying units of Jharkraft will be revived in two months. For this, new units will be installed in Godda, Bhagnaia and Irba (Ranchi).
Chief secretary Rajbala Verma, additional chief secretaries N. N. Pandey, U. P. Singh, development commissioner Amit Khare, principal secretary to the CM Sanjay Kr., RDD principal secretary N.N. Sinha, secretary to the CM Sunil Kr. Burnwal and Industry Director K. Ravi Kumar were present in the meeting.
