Jamshedpur : Movement of several trains will be disrupted on Saturday (May 13) on the Chakradharpur-Lotapahar and Lotapahar – Sonua sections under Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway owing to work on two subways.
The disruption, known as traffic-cum-power block, will begin from12.40 pm and continue till 7.30 pm ( almost 7 hours) to ensure launching of the subways in the two railway sections.
Apart from two subways, overhead high-tension cables would also be simultaneously fixed at a few places in both sections.
Officials at Garden Reach, the Kolkata -based headquarters of South Eastern Railway said while timings of several trains will be changed, however none will be cancelled.
The 18189 Tata-Alleppey Express will be rescheduled to leave Tatanagar at 3 pm instead of 3.30pm. The 58012 Chakradharpur-Howrah Passenger will be rescheduled to leave Chakradharpur at6.30pm instead of 5pm.
As per the information, the 12871 Up Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Superfast Express will be short terminated at Chakradharpur railway station from where it will return as 12872 Dn. Similarly, the Dn train 12872 will be short terminated at Rourkela from where it will return to Titlagarh.
Officials said that though the Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express will not be short terminated at any station but the train Up train 12021 is expected to be delayed by about one hour when it reaches Barbil. The train usually reaches Barbil by 1.30 pm. On its return journey it leaves Barbil at 2 pm. The return train is also expeced to be delayed by over one hour.
Officials of Tatanagar Railway station informed that they are spreading the word on the changes being made so that the passengers can plan their trip accordingly. Chakradharpur is the highest revenue earning railway division in terms of freight in the country.
