Chaibasa: Infant dies after wall collapse in tusker menace  

Chandil, May 28. Wild elephants created a ruckus in Ichagarh located in Chandil subdivision area on Friday night. 

The elephants separated from the herd damaged half a dozen houses and broke the wall of a house in the village due to which a nine year old girl died after coming under the wall. . At the same time, Krishna Singh Munda was seriously injured in this incident. After getting the information, the Ichagarh police reached the spot and took the body into possession and sent it for post-mortem.

The forest department has provided assistance to the families of the deceased. On getting information about the incident, the local chief Nayan Singh Munda reached the spot and came to know about the incident. He told that due to the elephant attack last night, many houses including Krishna Singh Munda, Sukhram Singh Munda, Vijay Singh Munda of Dumra village, Kailash Das, Budhu Das of Situ village have been damaged.
