Chaibasa, Nov 23: A seminar on TDS provisions and faceless assessment was organized at Chaibasa under the joint aegis of Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce and Industries and West Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Wednesday. Around 150 traders participated in the programme organized with the support of the Income Tax department.
The chief guest of the seminar was Binod Agrawal, Additional Income Tax Commissioner, Jamshedpur. Other guests included Manish Kumar Jha, Additional Income Tax Commissioner, TDS, Ranchi range, and Sidharth Pandey, Income Tax Officer, TDS, Jamshedpur.
The guests jointly lit a ceremonial lamp in the presence of Madhusudan Agrawal, president, Chaibasa Chamber, Rajkumar Ojha, president, West Singhbhum Chamber and Nitin Prakash, regional vice president of Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FJCCI).
Replying to the various demands put forth by traders, the chief guest said a decision in this regard could only be taken by the Government of India. Thereafer, Manish Kmar Jha spoke on the various provisions related to TDS (tax deduction at source). A Power Point presentation on the topic was given by Sidharth Pandey.
Income Tax officer Satyendra Kumar gave a Power Point presentation on faceless assessment and related topics. A question answer session as also held in the end. The programme was conducted by Sanjay Choubey, secretary, Chaibasa Chamber.
