Jamshedpur: A candle march was organized at Sakchi roundabout on Monday by members of Bhojpuri Navchetna Manch in protest of the militant attack on Indian soldiers in Uri.

The outfit members raised anti-Pakistan slogans and condemned the attack on the sleeping Army personnel in the pre-dawn strike by the terrorists.

Paying homage to the martyred Army jawans, the protestors observed silence for two minutes after the candle march. Addressing the gathering, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar said the attack on the military base was a cowardly act perpetrated by Pakistan.

He said the terrorists were helping Pakistan government to distract the entire International community of nations from the violation of human rights in Baluchistan by creating unrest in Kashmir.

Congress general secretary Rajnish Singh demanded a befitting retaliation to the terrorists and Pakistan Army by the Indian government.

A large number of commuters joined the candle march to show solidarity to the family members of the martyrs. Among those present during the event included Appu Tiwary, Abhishek Ojha, Rishi Pandey, Satish Mishra, Kumaresh Upadhyaya, Abhishek Pandey, BN Tiwari and Rajkumar Pandey.
