Candidates jostle to woo voters in last minutes campaigning

Jamshedpur : Despite dipping temperature across the district, candidates vying for Assembly were willing to spend much of their campaigning part. Candidates were seen sweating to attract the voters.

With few hours left for the campaigning for the second phase of polling, the candidates focussed their campaigning to the rural belts of the constituencies.

This time parties� leaders spent more time in the rural belts like Ghatshila, Potka, Behragora and Jugsalai assembly seats areas are crucial and considered to deciding factors in elections.

�This is an important election for us and since villages play pivotal role so it is important to spread party�s message in the rural belt. Moreover, Mahto is quite popular in the villages so it is obvious that our focus would be on rural areas,� Anil Modi, spokesperson, district BJP.

Presently, Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments Baharagora Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West.

Senior BJP leader Dineshanand Goswami today said that the nation is gripped with fervour of Modi wave no one can stop BJP . Addressing the media, the senior leader said that the party is receiving overwhelming response in Jharkhand and all its candidates will win the polls. He said that the BJP is fighting elections on the basis of development.

Candidates from the three Jamshedpur constituencies, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Jugsalai, are turning the focus of their campaign to street-by-street and door-to-door canvassing.

Along with the high profile visits and rallies of the leaders of major political parties, candidates are working hard to cover the entire constituency. They have turned their attention to micro-level problems and demands during the street-by-street campaign.

Abhay Singh, JVM candidate from Jamshedpur East, went on to Sitaramdera and interacted with the voters. He assured them that if he voted for Assembly he will focus on construction roads, bridges and ensure proper drinking water and power in his constituency.

Ramchandra Sais has been promising steps to relieve the traffic congestion in Jugsalai and construction of overbridge near Railway crossing. He has also promised steps for bringing better facilities for farmers.

Congress candidate from Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta also been focussing on ward-wise door-to-door campaign in recent days. His focus is Mango, Kadma and Bistupur.

�We have promised better civic services for the residents of non-company area. Better traffic and basic infrastructure is all I promise,� says Gupta.

Political parties and the candidates are equally focusing on public meetings and roadside campaigns through vehicles. BJP candidate from Jamshedpur West Saryu Rai is also focusing on door to door campaign. He is interacting with the voters of Kadma, Dhatkidih, Mango and Ranikudar.
