Jamshedpur: Members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha welcomed GST on Saturday by celebrating the occasion with firecrackers and balloons.
The fireworks took place near the Sakchi office of BJP in the evening. Balloons with GST printed on them were released on the occasion. The chief guest of the occasion was district BJP president Dinesh Kumar. Sweets were distributed among the people by the party leaders.
The BJP president termed the launch of GST as a historic occasion. He said it was a great reformation of the Indian taxation system and the economy. The address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament yesterday midnight was also shown on a big screen.
Among those present during the event included Chandra Shekhar Mishra, Gurudev Singh Raja, Khemlal Choudhary, Kamlesh Sahu, Lalchand Singh, Sunit Sharma, Umesh Pandey, Dinesh Sharma, Pappu Singh and Vijay Singh.
