Jamshedpur, May 19: Members of the Baridih unit of Bharatiya Janata Party staged a demonstration at the gate of Tata Steel Downstream Product Limited (TSDPL) near Bagunhatu Basti to demand job preference to local youths by the company.
The outfit president Kanchan Dutta said the company should give first preference to local youths when it comes to giving jobs. She said a large number of youths were living in penury due to joblessness. The company should not give jobs to outsiders, she added.
The party leaders said they had given a memorandum to the Deputy Labour Commissioner in this connection. But unfortunately no action was taken till date.
