Jamshedpur: A bhumi pujan ceremony for the construction of Kali Puja pandal at Kharangajhar Market, Telco, was organized here on Thursday. The deputy head (Up Pramukh) of Jamshedpur block Afzal Akhtar was present as the chief guest.
Members of Golden Boys Club, organizers of Kali Puja at Kharangajhar Market, apprised Akhtar about various problems related to civic amenities being faced by the local residents. They also raised the issue of absence of toilet in the market area. They said a large number of people visit the Kharangajhar Market daily to buy vegetables. In the absence of toilet, the visitors and vegetable vendors face inconvenience, said the Club members.
Akhtar assured to take up the issue with the authorities concerned and get a toilet constructed at the marketplace.
Among others present on the occasion included Om Prakash Singh, Abhinav Singh, Bablu Das, Jitendra Upadhyaya, Hari Shankar Choubey, Munna Jha, Jainarayan Singh, Sumit Gupta and Prashant Tiwary.
