Jamshedpur: Members of the city-based cultural outfit Jharkhand Bang Bhashi Samanvaya Samiti held a meeting at Sakchi on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by Bikash Mukherjee. He said that �Bang Bhashi Milan Samaroh�, a get-together of Bengali speaking people, will be organized at Jubilee Park on 8th January 2017.
A picnic will also be organized on the occasion, he said. Hundreds of Bengali speaking people from 25 different linguistic organizations are expected to participate in the large gathering.
The participants will plan celebrations on 23rd January on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
A discussion will also be held on the current state and fate of the Bengali language in Jharkhand.
Among those present at the meeting included Achintam Gupta, Narayan Pal, Biswajeet Mandal, Nepal Das, Chitradeep Bhattacharjee, Samant Kumar, Pradyut Ghatuari and Ayan Mukherjee.
