Jamshedpur : Two teachers of Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) of Jamshedpur Cooperative College, narrowly escaped from a sword attack by a youth on the campus in Bistupur on Friday.

The two B Ed teachers Manoj Kumar and Shubra Sarkar who were attacked by the youth though failed to remember the name of the attacker but claimed to have seen the youth at the college campus on several occasions over admission of students in B Ed.

The matter is very serious and we are investigating the incident. We think since the admission process for B Ed is still on the attack is related with B Ed admission only, said HoD of B Ed, Florence Beck.

Manoj Kumar and Shubra Sarkar said that it was around 11.30 am and both of them were sitting in chair near the faculty of education main gate.

As we were sitting on a chair at the college we saw two youths arriving near the faculty of education on a bike. On of the youths took out a sword and advanced toward us. He tried to attack us but fortunately the sword landed on the chair We then ran towards the staff room and locked ourselves in the room, narrated Manoj and Shubra.

Bistupur police station officer-in-charge A. N Yadav who inspected the college campus said that security personnel have been deployed at the campus. He however denied receiving any written complaint over the issue till the filing of the report.
