Ranchi: The deputy commissioner of Ranchi Vinay Kumar Choubey today said that auto-rickshaws will not be allowed to operate in the city unless and until their drivers or owners get the permit to do so.
A total of 3200 permits are to be issued in Ranchi. Sao far around 2365 permits have been issued.The remaining 835 per- mits will soon be issued by the regional transport officials.
This was informed by the deputy commissioner. The DC held a meeting with the administration officials on the transport permit issue. He said the auto rickshaw drivers will not be allowed to ply vehicles and resort to whimsical ways of functioning in the city.
He said the auto rick-shaws will not be allowed stoppage or parking everywhere.
Fixed places will be given to them for parking or stoppage purpose, the DC said.The DC said the purpose of introducing control measures were meant for the convenience of the people.
