Jamshedpur, Dec. 11: XLRI Jamshedpur is gearing up to host the third edition of TEDxXLRI on December 13. Themed �Soaring High: Ideas Scaling New Heights,� the event features speakers from myriad walks of life.
A press communiqu� issued by the country�s premier B-school read, �In today�s world where constant change and innovation form the hallmark of our lives, our speakers share ideas that have had a lasting impact on them, ideas that herald a new age of optimism and progress. In the run up to the event, the XLRI campus is abuzz with excitement with regard to the upcoming event which is a major highlight of the year.�
The speakers at this year�s event include Anand Pillai, managing director of Leadership Matters Inc. and former senior executive vice-president and chief learning officer at Reliance Industries Ltd. Pillai has more than 31 years of rich experience in the corporate world.
The second speaker is Rasika Shekar, a trained vocalist and flautist both in Carnatic and Hindustani classical music. Shekhar is the voice behind Bollywood songs in �2 States� and �Kill Dill,� besides performing in MTV’s Coke Studio Season 2.
Mani Vajipeyajula, another speaker, has done dual MBAs from Columbia Business School and UC Berkley. Mani is the founder and CEO of Banyan Nation, a high technology social venture.
Harish Iyer, a social rights activist, was named as one of the 100 most influential LGBT people in the world for 2013, by The Guardian will also be addressing the TEDxXLRI 2015. In addition, Archana Sardana, India�s first woman civilian BASE jumper, a certified skydiver, mountaineer and scuba diver, will also speak on the occasion. Sardana also has a diploma in interior designing and runs a scuba diving academy in Delhi.
Kunal Rao, a retired chartered accountant, is a stand-up comedian who has performed more than 300 shows across India, will also address the gathering at the event, in addition to Rajiv Jayaraman, an INSEAD MBA and a BITS-Pilani alumnus. Jayaram is the founder-CEO of Knolscape, whose products are used by top-10 B-schools across the world and in Fortune 500 companies.
Meghana Pant, a novelist and a financial journalist who she has interviewed celebrities like President Barak Obama, Mukesh Ambani, Sir Richard Branson, Hillary Clinton, Ratan Tata and Shah Rukh Khan among others, is another speaker. She is the author of �One & A Half Wife and Happy Birthday!�
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
