ASISC Zonal Football: Hosts Carmel Junior off to brilliant start


    Jamshedpur, Aug. 9: Hosts Carmel Junior College is off to a brilliant start in the ASISC Zonal Junior & Senior Boys Football Tournament 2017 at Carmel Bal Vihar, Sonari, on Tuesday.

    Carmel boys defeated KPS Kadma by 2 goals to 0 in their first encounter of the tournament.

    Yashwant of Carmel Junior College scored 2 goals to hand victory to his team.

    The three-day tournament which began on August 8 will continue till August 11. The inauguration ceremony was held on Tuesday were chief guest was Father David Vincent, Vicar General of Jamshedpur Diocese & former Principal of St .Marys English School.

    Guest Of Honour was Surendra Kumar Singh (HOR Jharkhand Football Association). Principal of Carmel Junior College M. Lini A.C. and Vice Principal Devashree were present during the inaugural ceremony.

    In round 1 seven matches were played were Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) defeated St. John’s 5-0 in the opening match of the tournament. RKMS beat River View 1-0, Church School beldih overcame ADLS Sunshine School 4-0.

    Boys from Tarapore School Agrico drub  Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) 3-0, Vig School beat Gulmohar School by 1 goal to 0 while DBMS defeated Dayanand Public School 3-0.

    I round 2 of the tournamnet RVS Academy defeated MNPS 1-0, RKMS beat RV 1-0, Church School defeated NHES 4-3, KPS Mango beat Andhra 3-2,  Tarapore School Agrico beat DAV Patel Nagar 3-2, SKPS beat Vig School 2-1and DBMS defeated LFS 1-0.
