Appointment made by Governor, notification issued

Jamshedpur, June 20: Anjila Gupta will be the first Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University. Her appointment has been approved by the Governor of Jharkhand, Ramesh Bais. She will have a tenure of three years. Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni issued a notification to this effect here on Monday.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren had met the Governor regarding the appointment of Vice Chancellor in five universities and Pro Vice Chancellor in two universities of the state. The meeting lasted for around one hour.
Sources said the appointments of Vice Chancellors are being made in Ranchi University, Vinod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Jamshedpur Women’s College and Jharkhand State Open University on the basis of a panel prepared by a search committee formed by the Governor. The committee recommended three names for each of the university. The Governor and Chief Minister gave consent to one name each, sources said.
