Amit Rai murder case: police arrest four with arms

Jamshedpur: City police here on Tuesday claimed to have solved the Amit Rai murder case by arresting four criminals with arms used in the crime.

Police were searching for the accused persons ever since an FIR was lodged in this connection with the Sonari police station on December 6 last year. Those arrested were identified as Mohan Yadav, Rajiv Gorai, Ajit Mondal and Sanjay Kumar Sona.

Cops confiscated three country-made single-shots and one pistol along with six bullets, seven mobile phones and two motorcycles used by the criminals in carrying out the murder plan.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anoop T Mathew said, The murder of Amit Rai, 35, was planned by Kanhaiyya Singh and executed by the four arrested shooters.

The assailants, who are in their mid-twenties, had conducted reconnaissance of Shiv Ganga Apartment at Sonari where Amit lived before killing him there on 6th December last.

Upendra Singh was gunned down in the Bar Building on 30th November last.

Rai was among the close acquaintances of Upendra Singh who had created ruckus at Tata Main Hospital on the day of killing when the slain transporter was taken there in critical condition and later declared as brought dead.
