Administration reviews security arrangements for Modi�s rally

Jamshedpur : The district administration on Tuesday reviewed the security arrangements and preparedness of Narendra Modi’s rally at Gopal Maidan to ensure safety of the rally on November 29.

A team of SPG along with district administration led by senior superintendent of police Amol V Homkar and Dhalbhum SDO Prem Ranjan today visited Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.

Modi is expected to address an election rally in favour of party candidates. As per a tentative programme the rally is scheduled around 11 am.

The officials discussed the logistics with other members of the team which also comprised officials from SPG. The administrative officials finalised the spot for construction of the stage. They also decided the various entry points and exits at the venue of the meeting.

An police official said that they will prepare a road map. “Traffic is an important issue that needs to be addressed in view of the rally. We will prepare the road map and also chalking out alternative routes for traffic diversion,” he said.

State BJP leader Saryu Roy and other senior party leaders of East Singhbhum district who too inspected the venue to take stock of things said, “Party activists are excited and keen to participate in Narendra Modi’s rally and that the activists from each and every block of three districts–East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan- were expected to come in large numbers.

Officials informed that Gopal Maidan has a capacity of accommodating 10,000 people. Special security arrangements would be in place for the rally.
