Jadugora: Hundreds of Adivasis celebrated Sendra festival in the forests of Rajdoha on Monday. Many youths, children and aged people participated in the traditional hunting ritual.
In view of the festival, forest officials led by the forest ranger of Rakha Mines Anil Chandra Das launched an awareness drive to prevent killing of animals by the Adivasis. The forest officials appealed to the villagers not to kill the innocent animals.
The tribals worshipped the Ranga Pahar Devta before going ahead to celebrate the festival. They said they would be participating in the ritual and not killing any animal.
Among those present on the occasion included Sanjeev Sardar, Mangal Murmu, Sudhir Soren, Heera Singh Sardar, Riju Mahato, Bappi Namata and Sonaram Hansda.
