Jamshedpur, June 19: Jamshedpur recorded 28 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday while 42 patients recovered of the virus and zero death was reported as the number of active patients reached below 200 in East Singhbhum district, health bulletin showed.
With this, the overall number of positive cases reached 51405 in Jamshedpur, according to East Singhbhum’s Health Department data for a 24-hour period.
The death toll stood at 1046 in Jamshedpur with zero death recorded during the day, the data showed.
On the brighter side, 42 patients recovered in Jamshedpur, with the overall recoveries surging to 50,164, it showed.
The active cases have come down to 195 in Jamshedpur, according to the official figures.
The mortality rate stood at 2.03% and recovery rate at 97.64% in Jamshedpur, the statistics showed.
Of the 28 new cases, 14 were reported in rural areas of the district.
With just 28 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Saturday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.
The positivity rate stood at 0.58% on Saturday. Jamshedpur also saw 42 people recover of the virus on Saturdat. Of the 195 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals.
More than 4500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.58%.The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.58 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 4500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 4866 samples, of which, 28 turned out positive while 42 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.58 per cent, the government data showed.
