ABVP launches plantation drive


    Chaibasa, July 9: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a meeting and plantation drive at St Xavier School on Saturday.

    BJP leader cum TAC member J B Tubid, who was chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the function by garlanding the portrait of Shyma Prosad Mukherji and Dr Dindyayal Upadhyaya.

    Addressing the students, TAC member Tubid said that it was decided launch sal sapling plantation drive at all the Deshwali Puja Sthal of Kolahan in order to protect Adivasi culture jal, jungle and jamin.

    He added that ABVP is not only working for the education and national integrity, but also launching a nationwide plantation drive to protect our green earth.

    Tubid also shared his personal experiences with the ABVP students and appealed them to protect the environment through massive plantation.

    He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working sincerely for water conservation.

    Dr Kamlendu said that ABVP not only contribute for the education and nationality but also works on social harmony. Dr Dependra Prasad said that the ABVP was established on July 9, 1948 and as of now it has become the largest students union. Dr. D N Mahto said, We receive fruits, grain and oxygen from the vegetation if there is no vegetation then no human being will survive. So we must plant at least five saplings in a year.”

    After the meeting, the plantation drive was undertaken and around 100 saplings were planted in the school premises under heavy rain.

    Student union leader Bullet Kondwal, Tarun Kumar Swainya, Nandalal Khandyet and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
