Jamshedpur, Aug. 21: AAP’s national spokesperson Ashutosh who was in steel city today to attend party’s state level worker’s meet at the Birsa Munda Town Hall in Sidhgora said that Jharkhand is top on their priority list and they would contest the next assembly election due in 2019, without forging any alliances.

On his maiden visit to the steel city, the journalist turned politician was talking to the newsmen. He reached here late in the night by road from Ranchi. He returned to the capital this evening before taking a flight for New Delhi.

Addressing about 2,500 party members who had come from different parts of the state to participate in the state level meet, Ashutosh, said, ” We want to expand reach in Jharkhand and want to see a corruption -free state for which we will have to do a revolutionary work in Jharkhand, ” he said adding that Jharkhand was once considered a hub of higher education and that his party would try to restore that.

They have also set different deadlines for constituting panchayat and booth level committees. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today set October deadline for constituting its block level committees.

” We believe in strengthening the party in Jharkhand . Apart from October deadline for block level committees, we have also set a deadline of December for formation of panchayat level committees and March next year for constituting the booth level committees. There is much enthusiasm among the party workers and we hope to meet the deadlines,” said Ashutosh.

He went on to add that the party is also working on building and strengthening its organization in the two states- Punjab and Goa- where it will participate in the elections.

According to him , Punjab and Goa will be the first states the party will contest after Delhi, where it won 67 out of 70 assembly seats in the February 2015 elections. The terms of Goa and Punjab assemblies expire in March next year.

In reply to a question on Punjab elections, the AAP leader said that the people of Punjab would do what Delhi people did and vote AAP to power as they are fed up with not only the Akali-BJP combine but also with the Congress.

About the poll expenses to contest the Goa election, he said that Goa is a small State and as such they have a very small target of mobilising say Rs.6-12 crores.
