Aambagan ground gears up for a makeover

Jamshedpur : The revival and beautification work of nine-decade-old green lung, Aambagan ground in the heart of the steel city at Sakchi has started.

Tata Steel wholly owned subsidiary Jusco which looks after civic needs in company lease area and owns the ground along with help of district administration removed encroachment from the four-acre plot.

The company will spend Rs 2 crores on the renovation project. Encroachment by different section, dumping of construction debris and garbage, parking of long distance vehicles and automobiles had made
the ground lose its open spaces.

According to sources in Jusco, the revival work of the ground will comprise construction of boundary wall with proper gates which will remain locked to prevent parking of long distance buses and automobiles.

There will be adequate number of revolving gates for entry of residents and morning walkers. A walkerís track constructed with paverís block and plantation of trees across the boundary wall.
