82 DAV Bistupur students score 90 percent and above in CBSE class 12


    Jamshedpur, May 26: The long wait of the CBSE Class 12 students was finally over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results on Saturday afternoon.

    Continuing the tradition, students of DAV Public School, Bistupur again hogged the limelight with 82 students of the school scoring 90 % and above marks. There has been improvement in the overall result as in the year 2017, 67 students of the school scored 90 % and above marks.

    Ashish Sharma came out with flying colours scoring 96.6% marks in the pure science stream to bag the second position in Jamshedpur. Shubham Kar, the JEE Mains second city topper made his presence felt with 96.2 % followed by Swastika who scored 95.4 % marks to get the third position in the school.

    In Bio-Science Swagata Chowdhury was the school topper with 96.2 % marks followed by Shalini Singh (95.8 %) and Ariba (94.6 %).

    In Commerce, DAV Bistupur produced the city topper with Manisha Agiwal scoring 95.6 % marks. Jyoti Khillar was second school topper with 87.8 % and Mansi Gupta was third with 87.4 %.

    Shubham Kar, the JEE Mains second city topper has pinned his hopes on JEE Advanced exam and hopes to get a good rank so that he gets into IIT Delhi.

    ‘I expect an AIR under 200 so that I can get admission in one of the prestigious institute from I can take up electrical branch and can achieve my dream’, said Shubham.

    Son of businessman father Debashish Kar and housewife mother Piyali Kar, Shubham wants to become a scientist.

    Asked about the time he gave to studies, Shubham says, ‘I merely gave 4-5 hours a day to study but with full attention and when not studying I am busy with the virtual games’.

    Resident of Sonari, Shubham completed his class 10 also from DAV Bistupur.
    ‘I’m not on social media platforms like facebook and twitter but use whatsapp for exchanging study materials and little bit of chat with my friends. I just dont like facebook and twitter that’s the reason I’m not active’, he said.

    When asked that the secret behind Shubham’s success in academics is absence from the social media, topper said, ‘I don’t like facebook and twitter that why I’m not active but those who want to use may use the social media but they should see that it doesn’t goes to an extent that I hampers your study’, added Shubham.

    Jyoti Khillar, second school topper in commerce, who scored 87.8 %, said, “I always paid attention in class and clarified my doubts from teachers. Teachers are helpful and supportive. I am feeling on top of the world.”

    Pragya Singh, principal of DAV Bistupur was pleased with the results as all the students have cleared the exam. ‘The performance is improving with every passing year and we don’t just see the toppers as all the students have put in hard work.

    The result has been brilliant and specially for the students who were struggling a lot before the exam. The teachers have put in a lot of labour and gave extra classes to the students so that they can give their best’.

    She further said that several students of the school cleared the JEE Mains and hope the same is repeated when the JEE Advanced results are out.
