Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Jamshedpur East legislator Saryu Roy at a press meeting announced tat after months of discussions with the Tinplate Company management; the latter had agreed to provide 30 percent relief on pending electricity bills of 750 houses in No 10 Basti under the Company’s command area. The collective bill amounting to Rs 1.50 crore that had accumulated over a period of 10 years was to huge a burden for the power consumers concerned and they approached Saryu Roy for providing them relief. The legislator took up their cause and held regular discussions lasting two months and at his behest the Tinplate Company management agreed on providing relief of 30 percent on the total dues and at his behest, also agreed to the residents’ paying the balance amount in 18 monthly installments. This decision will bring a huge relief on the 750 households in No 10 Basti.
While addressing the press meeting at his Bistupur residence, Saryu Roy announced that between November 29 and December 3 he would sort out other issues of residents in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency pertaining to sewage and garbage problems, drinking water and other hitches with JNAC and JUSCO Ltd authorities for amelioration of the issues. He said that he would seek reports from the two service providers and try to find panacea for the long persisting problems of the people residing in East Jamshedpur constituency. Others present during the press meet were Dharmendra Tiwary, Subodh Srivastav, Hareram Singh and Mukul Mishra.
