Jamshedpur, Dec 17: The three day 5th Hindi Mahotsav organized by Srinath University got underway with a bang keeping the audience on their toes with plenty of exciting presentations on Friday, December 17. The fifth episode of Hindi Mahotsav was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr Gangadhar Panda, VC of Kolhan University along with special guests Dr PK Pani, BM Painali and Akhilesh Ji. and retired professor Dr Chandrakala Tripathy. The guests were honoured with shawls, bouquets and mementos.
In his inaugural address, Srinath University Chancellor, Sukhdev Mahto said, “Hindi is not just a language but a vital vehicle in which our culture is ensconced and an expression of our minds and hearts.”
Dr. Gangadhar Panda Vice Chancellor of Kolhan University said, “Many tribal languages are also spoken in Kolhan area and we have to take them along with Hindi. Even now all the education commissions in India have emphasized on Hindi and the mother tongue. Moreover, we should never overlook the importance of poetry that also constitutes the language of the mind and mood.”
. Akhilesh Ji opined, “Hindi is just not a language but it is ingrained in our flesh and marrow.Language becomes a culture only when literature is created out of it.”
Professor Chandrakala Tripathy averred, “Hindi Mahotsav hosted by Srinath University is a grand bouquet of varying facets of Hindi.. in the present times, there is a yawning hiatus between education and employment this is indeed a matter of concern. To organize Hindi Mahotsav is a big step. t Hindi language is like a ship that crosses many oceans. I heartily appreciate the enthusiasm of the participants.”
The first competition of the day was “Hasya kavi sammelan” in which Bhagyalakshmi, a participant from Mauritius, joined the competition online. The other competitions were Nibandh Lekhan, Deewar Sajja, Samuhik Charcha, Sahityik Safar and Vyaktitva Jhanki. The events were anchored by Uday Chandravanshi and coordinated by Bhavya Bhushan.
