22-day theatre workshop in city from Aug 21

Jamshedpur, July 20: A 22-day theatrical workshop will be organized from August 21 to September 11 on the occasion of the death anniversary of famous theatre artist and founder of city’s theatre and cultural origination Nishan, Pramod Singh.

Training of Chhau dance will also be imparted for the first time at the workshop. To make the workshop successful, a meeting of the Nishan’s working committee and members was held at Vishwakarma Bhawan in Baradwari on Wednesday.

Heading the meet, Rajesh Kumar, president of Nishan said several committees have been formed to look into the preparations of the workshop. Raju Kumar was appointed the director of the workshop, while Bijay Kumar Sharma will be directing the dance training.

Nishan general secretary Nishan, Bijay Kumar Sharma said participants will be provided details of acting, music, dance, directing, stage decoration, self development, dance history etc at the workshop.

The workshop will be hosted by senior theater artists of Jamshedpur, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts. Shyam Kumar, Jayprakash Shukla and Shailendra Kumar were also present at the meeting.
