Jamshedpur, July 26: A 16-year-old boy has gone mysteriously missing from Pardih locality in Mango since July 16 night.

His mother has lodged a complaint with the Mango police station suspecting a foul play. The family members suspect foul play as the boy identified as Krishna Mahto was a drug addict and was beaten severely at by staff of a motor garage after he was caught stealing iron goods on the night he is missing.

The family members and relatives said a week has passed since Krishna disappeared, they suspect either he has been kept hostage by the management of motor garage or has been murdered.

Officer-in-charge, Mango thana, Fulan Nath confirmed that they have filed a missing report about a 16 year-old boy who has disappeared from a motor garage in Pardih.

” We dont know about his whereabouts but soon after getting the missing report today, we started probing the matter and questioned the garage owner, Mohan Singh, but got no clue about the boy’s whereabouts.

The boy was caught while stealing iron materials on July 16. The garage owner claimed he had released the boy from their custody in the morning. But as so many days have lapsed since the boy is missing, it has become a matter of concern,” said the officer-in-charge.

Nath revealed that two more boys in the age-group of Krishna had been caught by the garage mechanics in that morning. When the two other boys are present at their house, Krishna is missing.

Sources said the missing boy, the only son is also a resident of Pardih, was known to the staff and owner of the garage.

One of the residents accompanied the complainant said that they had first doubted that Krishna might have been arrested by the police after being caught at the motor garage, but on verifying at the police station he was found nowhere.
